Danish weight loss drug manufacturer Novo NordiskgopokerNorho Holdings, the controlling shareholder of the company, said on Wednesdaygopoker, plans to invest approximately $200 million in quantum computing startups.

The company is an investment arm of the Novo Nordisk Foundation and owns 77% of Novo Nordisk's voting shares. Novo Nordisk is known for making the best-selling weight loss drug Wegovy and diabetes drugs.

Norwa Holdings said it hopes to help build an ecosystem of quantum computing start-ups, with a special focus on life science companies in the Nordic countries.

By applying this technology to the development of drugs and other life sciences, quantum computing companies can greatly accelerate the drug discovery process.
